Name:Sheham Aariyan, ID:24101183
“Chattogram” (Previously known as Chittagong) the second-most largest city of Bangladesh, you can also call it the city with “natural harbor”. Located at the bank of Karnaphuli river it is really a place where your eyes can rest and your heart can feel what “inner peace” actually means. Besides being one of the most renowned cities for business and industrial development it is also known for its scenic beauty. You cannot come up with anything that you cannot find in Chattogram, it is a compact city. Now, let's highlight the most interesting fact about this city which is its “tourist spots” and “traditions”.
In Chattogram there are a ton of places you can visit. It is obviously a wanted destination for tourists. Wherever you go you will find mother nature’s touch, you will hear birds chirping, you will feel the cold breeze, you will feel like an innocent child who is in the lap of its mother. That kind of peace can only be felt by those who truly crave for a natural environment. The main attractive spots that truly beautifies this city are Rangamati, Bandarban, Patenga Sea Beach, Naval,Foy's Lake and the most renowned sea beach which is Cox's Bazaar. These are the top most favorite places for the tourists and also for the residents there. Other than these there are a lot of places where one can visit and spend a good time.
If you want to travel to a destination through a part of Chattogram Hill Tract and reach somewhere where you can travel an entire lake, eat fish which will be instantly caught and cooked in front of you, enjoy waterfall along with a day long boat ride then Rangamati is your destination. Some of you may have already heard about the “hanging bridge” which is very famous and recently a project named “Polwel Park” is also in action which is attracting a huge number of tourists to Rangamati. If you ever visit it, do taste the “Bamboo Chicken” and the “Fish Curry” of a restaurant named “Shornochera”. It will be just beside the river and you have to go there by boat.
Patenga Sea beach and Naval are in the same area. It will not take more than an hour to reach there. You will also find the “Porjotok Bus” introduced by the Bangladesh Government to help tourists visit there. In Patenga you can enjoy the beach and the view of the sunset. You will find events like shooting balloons, riding horses and quad bikes. You can also find a variety of sea food there. You can visit Naval if you want to have some awesome local foods like “Crabs” and “Piyaju”. You can also watch people enjoying boat rides, catching fish and can also watch the ships at the port. The location is just in front of the airport.
If someone wants to go somewhere in the city where he/she can enjoy all day long then the best destination is Foy’s lake. It is actually an amusement park where you can enjoy all kinds of fun rides. Again there is a place called “Sea World” where you can enjoy a swimming party made more interesting with DJ's Here you can enjoy a launch ride across the lake, there you can see many kinds of wild animals like- deer, snakes, monkeys. Just beside the park there is a zoo too. Recently a “Basecamp” was also introduced there where you can go camping and enjoy various physical activities like- Zipline, kayaking etc.
The people of Chattogram city are too helpful and welcoming. They stick to their traditions too well. One thing that I know everyone knows about is the “Mezbaan” of Chattogram. It is not an occasion, rather it is a social gathering of near and dear ones enjoyed mainly by having traditional “Chatgaiya” food which contains mainly beef or “gorur gosto” in local language, with “daal” and plain rice. Whoever visits Chattogram, the people there will welcome them nicely and will obviously make sure they are well fed, by well fed I meant they will not be satisfied if you say you are full until and unless they think the same. So, if you travel, be well prepared. Again, if someone visits during occasions like: Eid, Pohela Boishakh etc they will feel the excitement in the air.
There is no city in Bangladesh as compact and beautiful as Chattogram. The city radiates joy and happiness. Finding such a place surrounded by scenic beauty is too hard now-a-days. We should appreciate the fact that we have such a gem in our country.
